Dressing well always gives people the impression that you’re responsible and reasonable. Dressing sharp can also boost your confidence level when you step out. Personally, I always love to look good regardless of where I’m going. And anytime a dress shabbily, my confidence goes down a bit because I feel uncomfortable. So I want to share a few tips that will guide you to look stylish all the time.
1. Become a better shopper
Learning how to shop for exactly what you want will help you avoid filling your closet full of items you never wear. When your wardrobe consists of outfits that you love, styling an outfit will be fun and easier.
2. Find your personal style
Finding out which particular style that works for you can be quite difficult. But remember that personal style is an experiment; you never know what amazing looks await you until you are in the dressing room.
Take time to play with colors and shapes to find what looks great on your unique body. You need to find out what type of clothes or style fits you best depending on your body type and skin tone.
3. Make sure your clothes fit perfectly
Well-tailored clothes make a huge difference to your appearance. By well-fitted, means clothes that conform to your body’s shape, and allow you space to breathe and move.
Avoid putting on oversized clothes but when you want to play with oversized clothes or unusual shapes, make it a fashion moment by keeping the rest of the look fitted.
For example, try pairing a tight crop top with wide-leg jeans, or a puff-shoulder top with straight-leg pants.
One trick to making any item of clothing look amazing is to hire a good tailor.
Tailored clothing not only looks polished, but it also feels more comfortable.
4. Choose your colors carefully
If you are nervous about adding color to your look, start with just one colorful piece, and keep the rest of your look neutral.
As you get more comfortable with colors, you will learn which color combinations work best for your style. You have to search for color-matching samples that will guide you in choosing your colors.
For instance, I have a folder in my phone gallery that includes fashionable dresses that I know will fit my body shape. So most of the time I already have in mind the kind of dress I want to buy or sew.
5. Take Care of Your Clothing
It is all beautiful and nice to have nice clothes and dress well but it is also important that you take good care of them.
Learn the proper way to iron your clothing as well to prevent damaging the fabric. Additionally, you must learn how to safely manage stains on your clothing as well as wash and dry specific fabrics and materials.
Get yourself items such as wooden hangers for your suits, a shoe rack for your shoes, a reliable iron, and detergent. Remember to always keep your clothes neatly folded and clean at all times.
